Vacuum Embedding Baths
The stainless steel Labec Vacuum Embedding Bath is designed to heat up paraffin wax for heat therapy. Our vacuum embedding bath has two vacuum pots which are surrounded by water. Each pot has a glass viewing lid and a vacuum gauge. The heating elements are located at the base of the bath, with the temperature controlled by a digital display.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a vacuum embedding bath?
A vacuum embedding bath is a specialised device used to infiltrate tissue samples with embedding media, such as paraffin, under vacuum conditions. This process eliminates air bubbles, ensuring complete infiltration of the embedding medium for optimal sample preservation.
What is a vacuum embedding bath used for in laboratories?
In laboratories, vacuum embedding baths are essential for histology and pathology. They are used to prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination by ensuring that the embedding medium thoroughly penetrates the tissue, providing better structural integrity.
How is a vacuum embedding bath used to embed tissue samples in histology laboratoies?
To use a vacuum embedding bath, tissue samples are placed in a mould filled with embedding medium. The bath is then evacuated to remove air, allowing the medium to fill all spaces within the tissue. Once the vacuum is released, the medium solidifies, preserving the sample.
What is the advantage of using a vacuum embedding bath?
The primary advantage is improved infiltration of the embedding medium, leading to better preservation of cellular structures. This results in higher-quality histological sections and more reliable diagnostic outcomes.
