Design a water bath to run from 0°C to 85°C with 8 segment heating with 8 sealed tanks or chambers submerged into the water to hold a temperature uniformity of ±0.3°C across the range from 0°C to 85°C.
The design had to have a scale system to be mounted on a frame above the tank and the tank would be submerged under pressure into the bath and provide a stable temperature across the temperature range. Safety features such as a clear sight glass and element cut off were fitted to prevent overheating.
Problems to overcome
The unit was limited to 10AMP power supply and had to have uniformity across the whole 8 submerged tanks, which was only achieved through high water pressure pumps and water flow through the tank system.
